As it turns out, it was a good decision. We got caught up on our laundry and were able to do some "practice packing" since we've bought a few things since we left. The good news is, we still can fit it all in.
So, we had a nice, slow day. We're far enough away from civilization that the pace of life here is quite slow. We sat around, walked around, and drove around a bit. No real firm itinerary, And we liked it.
What is cool is that there are tropical birds that fly wild all around here. We've seen parrots, cockatoos, and kookaburras all over. We saw a sign on the road warning us about kangaroo and wombat crossings, but we didn't see any.

We wandered down to the beach again, and the surf was much higher. It was fun. There were more people there, including a bridal party taking pictures, and some surfers.
We had dinner (all 11 of us) at the local lawn bowling sports club. They had one of the Sydney Olympic torches on display there. We took advantage of the fresh seafood and ordered salt and pepper squid (a common dish here; like calamari) and some scallops and oysters. Anne and I shared the scallops, and they tasted different than we expected. They were much softer, not at all firm. The squid was quite soft, too. After a bit, we realized that they were so much fresher than we were used to that we didn't even recognize them! They were fantastic. So fresh, they were served in the shells. You can't get that in Texas.

They also had some fun items on the menu. Bean nachos, which was a surprise, and something called Crumbled Lambs Brain. Hmm...what are the crumbles?
